How you build a New Build

You’ve decide to take on a fun challenge, to build a house. It’s an exciting thought although like anything in life there can be challenges along the way.

So where do you start with a New Property?

Foundations – once the site is cleared the digging can commence to prepare the foundations and the drainage. Building and planning strong foundations will set the project on the right path. All groundworks up to damp proof course are covered. This includes all groundworks like drains, concrete floors, and all mains like gas, electricity and water.

Superstructure – this is the construction of the walls, installation of windows and doors. Once this stage is achieved you can really see the new build property take shape.

First Fix – Plumbing, heating and electrical wiring take place at first fix. Staircases are fitted and any non load bearing walls.

Second Fix – By the second fix stage things are really taking shape. Kitchens can be installed. Also at this stage sockets, switches and lighting are fitted to complete the electrical installation. Bathroom suites and central heating systems are put in. AAll of the ancilliary woodworking like skirting boards, doors, coving etc is completed at this time. Tilers are able to finish floor tiles and wall tiling throughout the property.

Decoration – Painting of walls and ceilings and woodwork

Final checks – Light bulbs, door furniture etc are fitted

External – Patios, gardens, driveways and pathways are completed
